Tara Thomas, LCSWA
Therapist

she/her

Tara’s areas of expertise include trauma and PTSD (including sexual abuse), eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and grief. She is dedicated to social justice and works from an anti-oppressive lens, specializing in supporting LGBTQIA2S+ folks, people of color, women, children, and professional helpers.

Tara works with couples and individuals of all ages, operating from an eclectic framework that draws from modalities like CBT, DBT, and person-centered therapy. She is a rostered Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy clinician and has been trained in The GRIEF Approach and Child-Parent Psychotherapy.

Beyond any specific modality, Tara values each client’s individuality and works collaboratively to help them feel like themselves again. She believes in the power of acceptance, a good laugh (and cry), practical support, and taking things one session at a time in a relaxed, affirming, and non-judgmental space.
